Jackie Sanders is an experienced strategic marketer and communications executive with a single-minded vision: inspire those who are working to do better, be better.

Jackie’s expertise is grounded within strategic marketing, partnership development, and team leadership. She has spent the majority of her career within the life sciences industry and has helped guide the launch and development of multiple blockbuster pharmaceutical and healthcare device brands. Some highlights include, the launch of Gilenya, the first oral treatment for multiple sclerosis (Novartis), the launch of CIMZIA, the first fab’ fragment mAb for Crohn’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis (UCB), and brand development for LIPITOR, the world’s largest pharmaceutical brand.

With Covid-19, much of Jackie and her team’s work has focused significantly on healthcare-related business opportunities that have arisen from the impact of the pandemic (with non-healthcare companies), including the launch of a new hand sanitizer for a global supply chain company and brand development of disinfection services for a leading, national commercial cleaning franchise. In 2019, Jackie led the launch of the Blockland Solutions Conference—a world-class technology conference supporting accessibility of blockchain technology across 8 industry verticals, plus coding workshops.

Purple Carrot came to be first as a technology start-up, where Jackie developed an early software product aimed at improving clinical outcomes through improved nurse engagement in hospital systems. The product was formally recognized for its promise in several forums: semi-finalist at Unite for Sight's Innovation Challenge (2015) and Cleveland JumpStart's Start-up, Scale-Up competition (2015, semi-finalist). The product also garnered strong interest and collaboration with major hospital systems, such as University Hospitals of Cleveland.

While the experience did not lead to the next start-up unicorn, it enabled Jackie to expand the breadth of her expertise in new ways. Jackie rechanneled her efforts into consulting work with a wide variety of organizations beyond the health and wellness industry, including higher education, animation, emerging technology, and data analytics.

Prior to Purple Carrot, Jackie worked at several of the top communications and manufacturing firms in the life sciences industry, including Havas Life NY (Executive Vice President, Director of Client Services), The Bloc (EVP, Group Account Director), Cline, Davis and Mann (Account Supervisor), and Ethicon, Johnson & Johnson (Associate Product Director).

She holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, where she was distinguished from her colleagues as the Rainmaker of Tomorrow by Northern Ohio Live magazine.
